In the Money section of their current magazine, Which? investigates travel insurance and the shortfalls in some insurance policies when it comes to unexpected events.
Which? looked into whether the following possible unexpected events were covered within a large number of standard travel insurance providers policies and the results were very surprising:
- holiday failure
- scheduled airline failure
- terrorism
- strike
- civil unrest
- volcanic ash cover
Only 4 insurers out of the 80 companies that had their policies assessed by Which? included cover for all six of the events listed above; 50plus is named as one of the 4 companies.
50plus also achieved the highest policy score, 85%, of those assessed in a recent Which? travel insurance survey for the quality of its single trip policy.
