Travel Insurance

50plus Travel Insurance are delighted to offer a special policy which provides excellent cover at a competitive price. One premium can cover you anywhere in the world under our simple ANNUAL MULTI-TRIP policy. You can choose to limit the countries you travel to and this will reduce the price; and if you wish to exclude baggage cover then you can reduce the premium even further.

Our MULTI-TRIP policy offers comprehensive cover for individuals or couples up to and including 75 years of age.

Cover is available for travel up to 45 days per trip for anyone aged up to and including 70 years of age.  This option can be extended however up to 60 days per trip subject to the payment of an additonal premium. For individuals or couples aged 71 to 75 years of age inclusive, the limit is 31 days per trip - this cannot be extended.

For SINGLE TRIP policies the upper age limit is up to and including 89 years of  age.

At 50plus we believe in providing excellent cover at competitive prices - we ensure you will benefit from a quality product and we appreciate that you need comprehensive cover and the highest possible level of service rather than just a cheap price.

We would also love to be able to offer cover for everyone regardless of their age or medical history but unfortunately this is not possible. What we will offer however is a good quality product at a reasonable price, with excellent service in the event of a claim.

* IMPORTANT *

Pre-existing Medical Conditions

Many travel insurance policies will not offer any kind of cover for pre-existing medical conditions. We have chosen to be able to offer cover for some pre-existing medical conditions, although they may sometimes incur an additional premium or increased excess.

Hopefully this means you will have peace of mind knowing that you are covered, rather than simply excluding cover. Particular attention should be paid with regard to medical conditions and history of not just the people travelling but also anyone on whom the trip may depend, such as a close family member. Should you need to contact the Medical Referral helpline then please call 0845 0703593 (Mon-Fri 9-5pm).

Making a claim

If you have a travel insurance policy with 50plus and need to make a claim then please call the Claims Dept on  0845-812-3441. Your claim will be dealt with by Insurance Administration Services Limited (IAS) who will be able to help you in any way they can. If you are abroad and need emergency assistance then please call +44 (0) 20-7902-7405 or email assistance@specialty-group-com

The emergency line offers a 24-hour service with English-speaking operators who will help you in a medical emergency situation. You can even call this number before your trip if you require any particular advice.

If your emergency relates to replacement passports, being a victim of a crime or if you require a lawyer or interpreter (eg after being imprisoned for whatever reason) then you should contact the British Consulate who are there to protect the interests of British nationals whilst abroad.
